Stewarding

All our meets are organised by volunteers, who generously give up their time so that our members can enjoy the best possible camping experience at our Meets and Temporary Holiday Sites (THS).

Our Stewards play a vital role: they book units onto site, collect and record site fees, show campers where the elsan and water points are, and point out any other facilities available. They also let members know about any local activities taking place during the meet.

Stewarding is not only enjoyable and rewarding, it’s essential — without Stewards, there would be no DA meets. As a way of recognising their efforts and support, Stewards receive free camping when stewarding for Lakeland DA at the meets or THS they are managing.

We are always on the lookout for new Stewards to help with our events. If you feel unsure about taking on the role, why not shadow an experienced Steward first ? You’ll enjoy the same benefits while gaining valuable experience.

Remember, we don’t expect Stewards to organise entertainment or activities — just to welcome campers with a smile and a friendly face.
